Hiyas! My name is Cassie. I’m 33. I’m reminiscing 20 years back.
My high school days were fun! I went to High Tech High Media Arts. Didn’t like calculus though. I enjoyed science. I spent a lot of time with my friends. (Don’t believe Lynn. She is a workaholic but she gets lazy halfway though.) We all had lunch in the same place. I got to spend a lot of time at Starbucks. (Everyone be grateful for coffee.)My sis went to HTMMA at the time. My time on high school is more of a blur now.
I really didn’t want a boyfriend that bad but all my friends had them so I ended up asking this guy out to a dance didn’t really go anywhere. I know that first kisses are all so important and stuff so I got mine at the dance. Whoops! Kind of surprised my date. Parents made me get a job. I worked at Petco giving vaccinations to cats and dogs. I still volunteered at an animal shelter. They helped me so it wasn’t so hard. Lynn said it took forever too. I learned Japanese. (Still not good at it.) Took an intermediate Spanish class. Saw Lynn at a comic convention. She said she was busy that weekend and didn’t tell me where she was going!
Naturally after high school was done I went to collage. I wanted to be a vet or a doctor so I went to UCSD. (Not to mention the fact that my parents wanted me close.) I wanted to be a doctor or a vet when my dad fell when we were skiing at mammoth. After that I wanted to help people. Heard there were a lot of med students at UCSD that was that. I took a teaching class and English too and got past that.(I interned in Japan for a year teaching english.)
Of course I took all the mandatory classes and I took all the classes I needed to become a vet. Visited my family every Saturday. Lynn sometimes visited. We kept in touch and of course I kept in touch with Shanna, Eliza, and Emily. After collage I went to vet school and did that. So I kept working at it. It was a lot of hard work opening my own practice. I own myself. I had Lynn advertise. (after all, a good friend would do that right?)Some people came in and I took care of their pets. After some time I wasn’t afraid of anything.
After that we were all celebrating our initial success so Eliza, Shanna, Emily, and I went to Japan and we visited Lynn. We found some nice places to stay at (most convientely next to Lynn, and I was bunking with Eliza). We went to a ruestrant and bar so after that Eliza went somewhere and came back with a guy. I was so pissed! We went home after the summer was over. Took a big chunk out of our paychecks but it was worth it. That was the most memorable event of my 20 years.
I think it was sometime after that that my friends tried to hook me up with a guy didn’t really work.
When I was 23 my sis graduated from collage and went to see it. She should live in her own apartment (she lives with me). She doesn’t pay for anything besides groceries. When I was 27 I got a boyfriend! We dated for 3 years and then he proposed on my birthday. It was the best day of my life. It’s a good thing my mom didn’t freak when that happened. After all it was her who introduced me to him. She’s like an old granny matchmaker. I’ve been married 3 years to him and I’m happy (Me and my fiance had our wedding first and then Lynn had hers sometime later that week. We got to see each others weddings. It was really cool. It was in the winter/fall. We had our bachlorettes party together and invited all the gals.) Me and my husband don’t want to have kids just yet. I’m a successful vet.
My biggest impact on the world is when children come in with their pets hurt and go out with their pets healed or healing with new hope. It makes me happy.
